The time is not far when we will be able to achieve superhuman feats and control machines by just our minds. Professor Xavier anyone(X-men)?

What is Neuralink?

1.Neuralink is a device that will be implanted within us.

2.With this device we will be able to control machines, it can also help us cure medical problems such as depression.

What is the purpose?

Elon Musk and Neuralink aim to implant wireless brain-computers in the human body to cure neurological conditions like Alzheimers, Dementia and Spinal injuries, etc.

where are they implanting chips in humans?

About the size of a grain of rice, the device was planned to be implanted between the shoulder and elbow area.

What is Neuralink Developing?

Neuralink produces a fully integrated brain-machine interface (BMI) device, also known as a brain-computer interface (BCI).BMI is a technology that enables computers to interact directly with the human brain. Using BMI, a paralyzed person can monitor his / her brain with a keyboard or mouse and write information to the brain to retrieve his / her sense information. In order to communicate inside the skin, these devices must be reliable and completely wireless. The device called the connexion would be able to record from 1024 electrodes and is designed to meet the requirements.

Advantages :

1. A neural shunt that allows paralyzed individuals to regain control of their bodies.

2. Completely immersive AR and VR with the senses bypassing components directly projected on the cortex.

3. Mental monitoring of the equipment with high precision.

4.Cerebral augmentation basically enables us to obtain additional cloud cortex.

5. Brain telepathy to the brain.

6. Body switching by way of a kind of neural telepresence.

7. Through telepresence.

8. Recording of sensory input coming in.

9. Ultimately, while this will have to go deeper than just the cortex, a way to back up the mind.

Disadvantages:

1. If done with precision under sterile circumstances, brain surgery is less dangerous than we would expect but extreme caution is needed.

2. Any unexplained long-term effect of decomposition of the electrode materials by the body over time on the brain.

3. A Bluetooth interface which can be powered by a digital computer directly attached to your brain. Physical, as well as software security, must be maintained at all times.

4. They touched on the need of periodic brain surgery, for maintenance and improvements/updates, doesn’t sound convenient.

Though it seems very exciting and has many pros and cons, the day when we can successfully roam around with neural links within us seems far away.
